• Old Quarter Rickshaw Experience

Day 2: Full-Day Hanoi City Discovery – History, Culture & Local Life (Meals: B, L)

Today, enjoy a comprehensive guided tour of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, where ancient heritage blends seamlessly with modern life. Begin with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s traditional stilt house, offering insight into the life and legacy of the nation’s revered leader.

Continue to the Temple of Literature, a beautifully preserved complex dating back nearly 1,000 years and widely regarded as Vietnam’s first university, dedicated to Confucius and generations of scholars.

Lunch will be served at a carefully selected local restaurant, featuring authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

In the afternoon:

• Visit Thu Huong Lacquer Arts & Workshop, where you will discover the fascinating history of lacquer—its origins, its early appearance in the world, and its evolution through the centuries. During this immersive experience, you will learn about natural pigments extracted from tree bark and traditional coloring techniques, as well as the distinctive craftsmanship that sets Vietnamese lacquer apart from its Japanese and Chinese counterparts. You will also gain insight into the meticulous, time-intensive process behind authentic Vietnamese lacquerware, understanding why this traditional art form requires exceptional patience and skill to achieve its renowned depth, durability, and elegance.
• After that, you will proceed with your tour of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays), where engaging exhibits and traditional architecture introduce you to the cultural diversity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, enriching your understanding of the country’s social fabric.

Later, return to the city center for a leisurely walking exploration of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Wander through its historic streets, discover local shops and street life, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere that defines the heart of the city.

🏛 Visitor Etiquette & Dress Code Advisory

• Dress Code:
  Visitors to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum are required to dress respectfully. Clothing should cover shoulders and knees. Sleeveless tops, short skirts, short shorts, and see-through clothing are not permitted.
• Behavior Inside the Mausoleum:
  Silence is required at all times. Photography, video recording, mobile phone use, and eating or drinking are strictly prohibited inside the Mausoleum.
• Personal Belongings:
  Bags, cameras, and electronic devices may need to be checked before entry.
• Opening Schedule:
  The Mausoleum is generally open in the mornings only and is closed on Mondays and Fridays, as well as during annual maintenance periods. In case of closure, the visit will be replaced with an exterior viewing and visits to the surrounding complex.
• Cultural Respect:
  As this is one of Vietnam’s most significant national sites, guests are kindly asked to follow the guide’s instructions and observe local customs throughout the visit.

Day 03: Hanoi – Halong Bay with Overnight Cruise (Meals: B/L/D)

Have breakfast at the hotel and check out of your room. 

08:00: Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer for about 3 to 3.5 hours to Halong Bay — with a 20-minute comfort stop.

11:30: Visit the pearl farm & workshop. Visitors will have the chance to witness the process of forming a pearl, from cultivation to harvest. Visitors will be introduced meticulously to each stage of the pearl production by the staff. You will definitely feel excited when witness every single twinkle pearl is taken out by the skillful hands of artisans.

12:15:  Arrive at the port where a speedboat is waiting to transport you to your Vietnamese sailing vessel. You are greeted on board with a welcome drink, followed by a quick safety briefing as the boat sets sail. Enjoy a leisurely lunch as the dramatic beauty of the bay unfolds around you. Take in majestic views of limestone karsts rising out of emerald waters and savor dinner on board, followed by an evening at leisure, where you can try your hand at squid fishing, watch a movie, or stargaze on the sundeck.
