Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (Meals: No)
Upon arriving at Noi Bai Airport in Vietnam's capital of Hanoi, your tour guide will welcome you outside the customs area, holding a sign with your name. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. The room is at your disposal from 14h00. Feel free to explore for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Hanoi - Ha Noi City Tour
Today, explore Hanoi by touring some major historic sites;
- Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (visit outside), Ba Dinh Square. and Ho Chi Minh relics,
- One Pillar Pagoda
- Temple of Literature
- Tran Quoc Pagoda and West Lake
- Train Street
- Enjoy a leisurely walking tour around Hanoi's Old Quarter. A guided walking tour is a great way to experience the charm of the Old Quarter. You'll have the opportunity to capture beautiful photographs of the people, buildings, and food, and savor every moment.
- Finally, enjoy a water puppet show to appreciate the traditional performance in Vietnam before returning to your hotel for a sweet dream.
Day 3: Ninh Binh – Tam Coc
08.00: Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer about 2.5 hours to Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh, the capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries — with a 20-minute comfort stop
On arrival, we will visit several historical sites in Hoa Lu's Ancient Capital such as the Temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, the Temple of King Le Dai Hanh, and a small museum with excavations and artifacts. The tour will help you better understand the history of the foundation and development of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu from 968 to 1010.
Afterward, continue to visit the beautiful Tam Coc and enjoy a unique boat trip to visit three caves, Tam Coc is known by the name “Halong Bay on land” due to its spectacular scenery with limestone karsts rising from the ground to tower over the region, and is a truly wonderful sight to see. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Bich Dong pagoda, passing spectacular karst cliffs, and enjoying the tranquility of the paddy fields.
15.30: Drive back to Hanoi
17.30: Arrive at Hanoi and spend overnight there.
Day 04: Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay – Overnight on Boat Cruise
Embark on an overnight cruise in beautiful Ha Long Bay, the quieter and more remote neighbor to the famous, UNESCO Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay. After a three-hour drive from Hanoi, you arrive at the port where a speedboat is waiting to transport you to your Vietnamese sailing vessel. You are greeted on board with a welcome drink followed by a quick safety briefing as the boat sets sail. Enjoy a leisurely lunch as the dramatic beauty of the bay unfolds around you. Take in majestic views of limestone karsts rising out of emerald waters and savor dinner on board followed by an evening at leisure, where you can try your hand at squid fishing, watch a movie or stargaze on the sundeck.
Day 05: Ha Long Bay – Ha Noi – Flight to Da Nang, then Transfer to Hotel – Overnight in Hoi An
Today, continue your unforgettable Halong Bay cruise which ends with a hearty brunch and then disembarks at around 10:45 am. Your driver is waiting for you at the pier. After that, head to the airport for your flight to Da Nang.
Arriving at Da Nang, meet your guide and driver before being transferred to your hotel in Hoi An. Check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 06: Hoi An - Danang - Bana Hills
Drive about 1.5 hours to Ba Na Hills, which is a French-style resort located on a mountain at 4,921 feet (1500 meters) above sea level. The famous and miraculous Golden Bridge held by two giant stones hands is here. A cable car will take you up to its peak, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the forest, as well as waterfalls in the rainy season. You will feel that you are in a medieval French town, occupying a cathedral, a large square with fountains, cafes, restaurants, vintage cars, colorful flowers, etc.
It will be enjoyable to spend an entire day here by visiting old French villas, Nui Chua, Vong Nguyet villa including the wine cellar, Linh Ung Pagoda, Sakyamuni Buddha's monument, and Ba Na Hills. You will finish the tour at 4:00 pm and then Drive back to Hoi An.
Day 07: Hoi An Eco Tour & Hoi An Old Town Walking Tour – Overnight in Ho Chi Minh
Rice farming and fishing are two of the most important industries in Hoi An. This morning, you will embark on a half-day Fisherman Eco Tour to experience the local fishing village. Head to the wharf and take a boat along the Hoi An River, stopping at a prime fishing location. Here, you’ll hop into a round basket boat, which is commonly used by local fishermen, and learn how to maintain your balance while trying to catch fish using a net.
In the afternoon, pass through the breezy streets filled with honey-yellow buildings, visit the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, the renowned Chinese Temple, Vietnamese former merchant's house, and listen to the stories behind these historical relics. Day 08: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels
Take a drive about one and a half hours northwest of Ho Chi Minh City to explore one of the region’s most well-known wartime landmarks – the Cu Chi tunnels. The intriguing network of underground tunnels provided shelter and an effective source of infiltration for the Viet Cong during the later years of the Vietnam War. Catch a glimpse of life during the war as you experience crawling in tight, narrow passageways and through a series of caverns which consist of storage rooms, make-shift hospitals and sleeping quarters. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City by private vehicle and stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Consider enhancing your visit with an optional visit to a cricket farm to learn about a local culinary delicacy and taste a local-style cricket roll (supplementary fees apply).
Please note: The Cu Chi Tunnels are very narrow spaces which may cause discomfort, particularly for those who experience claustrophobia, fear of the dark or similar health conditions. However, crawling inside is entirely optional and you can spend more time exploring above ground if you prefer.
Afternoon: Head back to Ho Chi Minh City. Visit the Reunification Palace, where the Vietnam War officially ended in 1975, followed by the War Remnants Museum to see impactful exhibits on the war's history and effects.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh
Day 09: Ho Chi Minh – My Tho (Mekong Delta)
Full Day: Leave for My Tho in the Mekong Delta.
Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River, stopping by lush orchards and local workshops, tasting fresh fruits, and experiencing traditional Vietnamese music.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.
